Average daily number of passenger trips on metro in Hong Kong 2013-2023

In 2023, approximately 4.6 million passenger journeys on average were done by the metro daily in Hong Kong, representing an increase of around 25 percent from the previous year. Average daily ridership Hong Kong's MTR lines dropped sharply between 2020 and 2022, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent travel restrictions.
