Value of direct P&C insurance premiums written in Canada 2020-2022, by line
In 2022, the value of total direct premiums written in the Canadian auto insurance sector amounted to approximately 31.4 billion Canadian dollars. This was by far the largest of any insurance line in the Canadian property and casualty insurance sector, being nearly twice the size of the next-largest insurance line, personal property insurance.
