The NYSE Amex Composition Index tracks the performance of stocks and American depositary receipts (ADRs) that are traded on the NYSE American exchange. The index mainly includes small-cap and emerging growth companies.
The index increased steadily until the financial crisis in 2008. Since then, the NYSE Amex Composition Index recovered and started to increase albeit with fluctuations. As of February 2024, the index stood at 4,503.94 index points.
