Humanitarian situation in Nigeria 2021
More than five million people in the Northern Nigerian states of Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe are believed to suffer from acute food insecurity. The high food insecurity is due mainly to the COVID-19 impact and the related shortage on the supply chain, the general adverse economic condition in particular in the North-East, the high prices of food, the internal conflicts, and the high terrorism alert, as well as shortfalls and floods. Indeed, over 190 thousand people in Nigeria have been affected by the floods that occurred during 2020.
