Telenor was the largest provider of mobile phone subscriptions in Norway from 2019 to 2022. Even though the company’s market share decreased from more than 48 percent, as of 2019, to under 43 percent in 2022, it still led in the ranking. Telenor was followed by Telia, with approximately 23 percent of the share, whereas Ice Norge accounted for nearly thirteen percent that year.
The highest number of Telenor subscriptions in 2021 was mobile subscriptions, which amounted to nearly three million. Next in the ranking were fixed internet and TV subscriptions, whereas fixed telephony ranked last that year. Regarding traffic, Norwegians seemed to spend to more and more minutes calling from mobile subscriptions over the period from 2016 to 2020 when it slowed down.
As of the first quarter of 2021, Sweden was the country with highest number of mobile Telenor subscriptions. Norway ranked second, followed by Finland.
