In California in 2021, 21 percent of students enrolled in K-12 public schools were White, 5.1 percent were Black, and 55.9 percent were Hispanic. In the U.S. as a whole, 45.2 percent of K-12 public school students were White, 14.9 percent were Black, and 28.4 percent were Hispanic.
