In 2020, maintenance of equipment costs amounted to over 1.8 billion Danish kroner and were the largest contributor to the costs of operating trains of Danske Statsbaner (DSB). Rental equipment was the third-largest cost for operating trains that year, amounting to 883 million Danish kroner.
