Book sales revenue in Mexico increased by over 23 percent in 2022.
Throughout 2022, publishing companies in Mexico printed around 104 million book copies, up 16 percent from 89 million a year earlier. In 2022, the private sector produced almost 43 million copies - or 41 percent of the total - for the National Commission for Free Textbooks (CONALITEG, as abbreviated in Spanish), a state-run agency that supplies children in public schools with textbooks free of charge. The rest were printed for the free market.
