Agricultural IoT devices shipped worldwide 2016-2020
The statistic shows the estimated number of agricultural Internet of Things (IoT) devices to be shipped worldwide from 2016 to 2020. In 2016, some 52 million agricultural IoT devices will be shipped globally. Due to changing climates and increasing pressures on food and water supplies, agriculture is under increasing pressure to improve the efficiency of farming methods and increase yields from existing agricultural land. The Internet of Things may help farmers achieve this. Smart agriculture is becoming increasingly commonplace among farmers, and high-tech farming with agricultural drones and sensors is quickly becoming standard practice.
