This statistic shows the number of companies subject to bankruptcy petitions in Finland in 2017, by industry. During the period under survey, the majority of filed bankruptcies affected companies in the trade, service, and construction sectors. Both enterprises and natural persons can be subject to a bankruptcy petition. Bankruptcy causes the debtor to lose the authority over the assets, which are liquidated and used in paying for existing debts.
