G20's public spending on clean energy and fossil fuels 2020-2022, by fuel type
The G20 countries spent a cumulative 44.6 billion U.S. dollars supporting international fossil fuel industries between 2020 and 2022, per year. The oil and gas industry was by far the largest beneficiary, accounting for the lion's share of public financing. Canada was the G20 country with the highest public financing of fossil fuel sources in the same time period.
