U.S. nonprofit board demographics 2022, by race and ethnicity
In 2022, 64 percent of board positions in U.S. nonprofit organizations were held by white people. This was significantly more than any other race or ethnicity. Black/African American/African board members were the second-most represented racial identity among board members that year, making up around 16 percent nonprofit board members in the U.S.
