Solar energy capacity in Africa 2011-2022
As of 2022, the solar energy capacity in Africa reached around 12.6 gigawatts, increasing from 11.6 gigawatts in the previous year, an increase of more than eight percent. Africa's solar energy capacity has been annually increasing since 2011. In that year, it was measured at only 331 megawatts. In the period under review, the continent's solar energy capacity increase by over a sixteen-fold.
