Some popular reasons for U.S. tech startups in 2020 to not hire freelancers according to the respondents are: the uncertainty surrounding the affordability of freelancers with 18 percent, the doubt in professional skills with 14 percent, the concern surrounding intellectual property with 14 percent, and some companies prefer working with people in the same office with 12 percent. It is noteworthy that there is not a significant gap between the percentages of the respondents' top answers. In other words, one reason for not hiring freelancers does not considerably outweigh the others.
