Governmental actions needed to improve acceptance of foreigners in Japan 2020
According to a survey conducted in 2020 on measures Japanese expect from their government in order to increase the acceptance of foreign residents in the country, almost 38 percent of respondents were hoping that authorities would implement steps to teach foreigners the rules of everyday life in Japan. Cracking down on illegal immigration was requested by nearly 23 percent of respondents, while under five percent said Japan should not accept foreigners altogether.
