Total investment of insurance companies in the UK

The United Kingdom is one of Europe's largest insurance markets. In the fourth quarter of 2020 alone, the insurance sector registered over one trillion euros in investment (other than assets held for index-linked and unit-linked contracts). This includes property other than for own use, holdings in related undertakings, including participations, equities, bonds, collective investment undertakings, derivatives, deposits, cash investments and other investments. Investments in the life insurance sector accounted for over two thirds of total investments.
