Contraceptive use in Chandigarh India FY 2016 by method
About 58 percent of married women used some method of modern contraception across the union territory of Chandigarh in India in financial year 2016. Using condoms was the most common contraception method in this region at 27 percent.
The government had taken several measures to encourage the increase in awareness, availability and usage of modern contraceptives. This included Mission Parivar Vikas initiative, which focused on family planning in 146 high fertility districts across seven states in the country.
