U.S. medical specialties with smallest gender pay gaps 2022
A gender wage gap exists within medical specialties in the United States, with females earning less than their male counterparts across all medical specialties, no exceptions. Pay gaps are usually over ten percent. In 2022, some of the smallest gender wage gaps existed in the fields of pediatrics. A female pediatric cardiologist earned on average 'just' 9.2 percent less than her male counterpart.
