Percentage of French parents concerned by their kid's reading situation 2019
In 2019, Harris Interactive conducted a study in France on the relationship parents and their children to reading. The survey asked French parents what they thought about their child's reading situation. Do they read a lot or not? Does it concern them? The survey displays that nearly 70 percent of French parents believed that their child read a lot, and this made them happy.
It seems that reading is one of the favorite activities of French children, alongside with playing outside and watching TV. Actually, reading is not only a popular hobby among children in the country, it is also important for older generations. In fact, only 13 percent of French people aged 15 to 24 years declared that reading makes them happy, compared to 35 percent of people aged 50 to 64 years.
