Car ownership rate in China 2019, by type
The electric car penetration in China has not been high yet as conventional cars still account for the largest share in terms of ownership. According to the survey conducted by Rakuten Insight, only about six percent of the surveyed Chinese car owners stated they owned an electric car while 86.7 percent indicated they owned a conventional car.
