The data reveals that 44 percent of respondents said that local crime news was important for their daily lives, however 70 percent cited weather as being the most crucial local news topic. The local news topics considered to be of comparatively little importance to daily life to respondents included news on restaurants, night clubs and bars and information about local arts and culture.
