Most wanted AI functions on mobile phones in Sweden 2017

Which artificial intelligence functions did Swedes want to have on their mobile phones in 2018? Most of the respondents to a survey (44 percent) that year answered that AI would help them have conversations in foreign languages. 29 percent would like their phone to help exploring new cities, while 23 percent said AI would preferably determine their location based on a picture. Among the other popular requests of AI on mobile phones, were taking good pictures and helping to make smarter purchases in the every-day life. The Google search engine was the most used one among services, which have to do with AI, in Swedes’ every-day life in 2018. The second most used service was Facebook, followed by music services, such as Spotify and Apple music.

 Attitudes towards AI

    Most Swedes had a positive attitude towards the impact of artificial intelligence on individuals in 2018. Similarly, the views were also generally positive on the impact on society that year. The share of respondents who had negative attitude towards AI and its effect on society and individuals were under 30 percent.

 What do Swedes trust?  

     The task which most men in Sweden seemed to trust AI to do without human assistance in 2017, was making traffic safer. In contrast, most women were comfortable with AI sending them reminders in their every-day life.
