From April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023, the financing of theatrical feature film productions in Canada totaled approximately 458 million Canadian dollars, of which 53 million dollars came from foreign pre-sales and advances. A year earlier, the sum added up to 371 million dollars, of which 78 million dollars came from Telefilm Canada, a state-owned enterprise dedicated to the Canadian audiovisual industry.
