Public interest in Colin Kaepernick in the U.S. as of June 2022
Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been very vocal about police brutality and racial inequality in the United States, kneeling during the national anthem in protest since his team's preseason games in 2016. As a result, the player was blacklisted by the league and has not played a game since the end of the 2016 season. During a June 2022 survey in the United States, 35 percent of NFL fans stated they would not be interested at all in watching Kaepernick play if an NFL franchise signed him. On the other hand, 22 percent of respondents said they would be very interested in watching him play.
